Art Journal: 14 July 2012

“Pin-Up Boy No. 1” 2012.

Putting on the artist cap.

This morning I had an epiphany and decided to go with it. I’m going to put my zentangle phase to a close and put all the good pieces up on Yep, this includes all of the Peace set and a couple of mixed media. I’m not able to find it in me to pull out more of these – that’s not to say it’s the end of my experimentation with zentangles.

When it resumes, the zentangle collection will expand; however, for now, it will stop.

New Interest

As some of you may already know, others and their ideas easily influence me. Not too long ago, a friend of mine asked me if I could contribute some artwork for a fundraiser and that got me thinking. Now, I’m all set into creating a new set of artworks that’s not even close to the zentangle style.

Homoerotica is now the new (old) theme in my artistic journey.

This wouldn’t be the first time I’ve dabbled in the homoerotica category (see here for an example) and I’ve not really, you know, delved into it as intensely as I did with my other subjects and mediums. Today, I thought, that should change. Truth be told, there’s no real reason why I decided that.

It is what it is.

About Today’s Piece

I call it the “Pin-Up Boy No. 1” because it’s the first of the homoerotica I decided to do; although, I didn’t exactly depart from the zentangle style, I combined the two. However, I am not mixing up the two in my current trend; so, I thought it was fitting to put this up as today’s photo.

Mixed media, 5×7” 2012. Signed and titled by the artist on the back.

Also, I wanted to use this entry to announce some major changes coming up soon. In the past couple of weeks I have been working on consolidating my web blogs from other places, including this one, into one comprehensive site of my ideas, works, writings, and stuff. It’ll be over at

As of my 29th birthday, I’ll have fully consolidated everything into that site and putting this blog into a long hibernation. So, prepare yourselves and update your bookmarks!
